Chloë is the latest celebrity to embrace the “emo girl” trend. Taking a page out of Willow and Machine Gun Kelly’s style book, the “Treat Me” singer wore a black designer dress while attending Burberry and Riccardo Tisci’s Lola bag event in Los Angeles on April 20. “i fell in love with an emo girl,” Chloë captioned photos of the Burberry look on Instagram, which Halle Bailey, Teyana Taylor, Yara Shahidi, and more commented on with multiple heart-eye emoji.
The midi dress featured a crew neckline, a fitted skirt with ruched detailing along the sides, and ruffled bell sleeves that hit just above Chloë’s wrists for subtle drama. Taking a sporty approach to the emo trend, Chloë styled the look with a black baseball cap embroidered with the Burberry monogram, pointed black pumps, silver rings, and Burberry Gold Monogram Motif Hoop Earrings ($490). She also wore a pair of mesh evening gloves that were just translucent enough to let her sky-blue manicure shine through.
For Chloë, who usually opts for formfitting ensembles with sparkling accents and sky-high slits, the relaxed LBD-and-baseball-cap combo is a surprising departure. But as with the high notes in her “You & Me” video with Gunna, she absolutely nailed it. Her makeup artist, David Velasquez, completed the ensemble with ombré eyebrows, bold mascara, and rich black lipstick that evoked major early 2000s emo vibes.
During the stylish event, Chloë hung out with Willow and South Korean rapper CL, snapping a few selfies before mingling with other attendees. Additional guests included Lori Harvey, The Weeknd, Madonna, Anitta, Sarah Paulson, Tinashe, Natalia Bryant, Erykah Badu, and more.
