A CHARITY shop fan has revealed her favourite section to look in for the most expensive-looking items – and it’s probably not the one you’re thinking of.

Faye De Lanty considers herself a sustainable stylist and has even penned a book about her shopping pursuits, called OPSHOPULENCE.

She also shares her best tips on her TikTok page, and revealed in a recent video that she always makes sure she checks the sleepwear section of thrift shops.

Explaining, she said: “Always look in the sleepwear section because they’re great layering pieces.

“Sometimes you could find silk – so you could wear a silk slip under a blazer, or could wear a cami under a little jacket.”

Holding up a mesh maxi dress, she added: “I think this would be too small for me but I love the mesh of it – it’s definitely a bit of a 90’s vibe.

“Again, as a great layering piece – Jean Paul Gaultier probably would have done that back in the day.

“You could even wear it as a top, just tucked into jeans with a cute bra underneath.

“It’s a really pretty, light piece.”

“I recently bought a silk pajama top and used it as a blouse,” one person commented on the video.

“Best decision ever, very comfortable and looked quite classy.”

“The sleepwear section is sooo underrated!” another added.

“I have an oversized pink satin moon print button down shirt and it’s one of my fave thrifted items.”

Another of Faye’s favourite recently-thrifted pieces is a lime green silk blouse, which she styled with a denim jacket, black trousers, white trainers and a bucket hat – giving her a real 90’s vibe.

“I went thrifting yesterday and I just had to show you this amazing, 90s, pure silk blouse that I found for $7,” she grinned.

“I’m so into the 90s at the moment, just adding little dashes to my outfits. I’m always keeping my eyes peeled in the thrift store.

“But the quality of this – it literally feels like white feathers.

“The collar is so cute, it’s got little cap sleeves, so it’s a bit chilly for where I am at the moment so I’ve kind of layered it up with all my other thrifted pieces.”

Faye continued to explain that one of the best things about thrifting, is that you can “thrift all the eras”.

“All the things that you see that are trending, that are in the magazines, that are in the high street, that are on celebrities – you can find it all at the thrift store,” she smiled.

“Just take some reference pictures, keep your eyes open, keep your mind open and you’ll be surprised what you can find.”
