Pop-up clothes shop planned – The Ellsworth AmericanThe Ellsworth American

ELLSWORTH — Sugar Mags, the Main Street candy and soda shop, will transform into a pop-up shop and exchange for children’s clothing Feb. 1-6.

Families by appointment will be able to browse and try on gently worn clothes. There will also be large toys, jumpers, walkers and other infant and child items.

“COVID restrictions have been in place for almost a year, hard to believe,” said Sugar Mags owner Sarah Bowden. “Our kiddos are weathering the storm very well, in this mom’s opinion. However, the little things — like going shopping for clothes — is yet another new and challenging task for families.”

To help make the process easier and affordable for parents, Sugar Mags will transform its main retail space into a clothing shop and the basement into a fitting room. The space will be sanitized between the private, 45-minute appointments.

Appointments are at the hour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb 1-6. Appointments can be made by messaging the business’s Facebook page or emailing [email protected]

The shop is accepting clean, gently used clothing, shoes, outerwear, baby items and large-size toys, new unopened baby food and canned milk. Drop-off is at 169 Main St. Jan. 27 and 30 from noon to 2 p.m. only.

There will be a free section, a rack from Clothes Encounters, as well as new with tags items. All unsold items at the end of the sale will be donated by Sugar Mags to the Community Closet.
